It has been agreed by council cabinets at the three districts (Norwich, Broadland & South Norfolk), and supported by Norfolk County Council, that the Draft Plan will go forward for a ‘Regulation 18’ consultation which will start on 29 January and run to 16 March 2020.
The consultation will comprise two key elements: the draft Greater Norwich Local Plan (GNLP) Strategy which is the planning strategy for growth in Greater Norwich from 2018 to 2038 together with supporting thematic policies; and a draft GNLP Sites document which will contain the policies for sites proposed to be allocated for development to help deliver the GNLP. The consultation will encompass preferred options and alternatives for both the Strategy and Sites elements of the draft Plan.
In a new development, a separate allocation plan is being developed by South Norfolk Council for the village cluster sites in South Norfolk which will come forward in due course (more information in 2H2020)
The two nearest consultation roadshows are as follows
28 February, 14.00 – 20.00 Harleston, Library
3 March, 14.00 – 18.00 Diss, Corn Hall
The consultation website will be available here http://www.gnlp.org.uk/ from 29 January.
Given I am a district councillor and will contribute to the wider debate over the coming months and years, I will not be submitting any comments (I am in listening mode). I am keen to hear opinions and will review all the comments following the closure of the consultation. Comments will be made available for all to see on the http://www.gnlp.org.uk/ in due course.
Individuals and organisations have until 16th March 2020 to submit comments
